Food is a crucial part of our lives. Sustenance aside, there’s a joy that comes with eating food and sharing that experience with your loved ones. There's also the cultural aspect of food which allows you to connect with your roots and ancestors through recipes concocted and enjoyed long before your existence.
It’s unexpected that something so amazing could also be a source of frustration, yet that is the reality of many adults today. Eating the food is fun, but everything that comes before that is challenging to many. Especially grocery shopping, ugh. Apart from my quarterly therapeutic trips to Costco, I avoid doing grocery runs as much as possible. Why can’t my fridge just refill itself? Amazon might be on to something with their smart fridge, but I digress.
Food management is arduous for a single person like me; I can’t imagine the plight of families with different food preferences and sensitivities. In families like that, doing groceries can be tricky. The person responsible for groceries would have to mentally take note of food preferences and read the labels to ensure everyone’s needs are considered. That sounds like an absolute pain.
The good news is that this is one of the problems today’s featured product solves. We’re still on the theme of products built by Africans in the diaspora. So, let’s get to it.
